PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elliot Yates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yates is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Village People - Y.M.C.A. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tim Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Elliot Yates!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yates lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wallace circles away quickly and effectively.
Yates throws a right hand that Wallace ducks under and follows up with a left that Wallace also avoids with ease.
Yates throws a nice looking combination but Wallace bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Elliot Yates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wallace looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Yates misses with a series of wild punches.
Wallace avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wallace drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.


It looks like Tim Wallace has been cut.
Yates takes a kick to the side of the head.
Yates lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Wallace sprawling to the canvas. Yates follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Wallace hang on?


Wallace is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yates wants to stand up but Wallace is controlling the position.
Oh Wallace is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wallace is looking to escape.
Wallace seems to have got his legs back now.
Wallace is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yates drops an elbow to the side of Wallace's head.


Tim Wallace's cut is getting worse.
Wallace regains full guard. Nicely done.
Yates won't allow Wallace to get back to his feet.
Yates really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wallace. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yates scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Yates stands up from Wallace's guard - Yates perhaps looking for a knockout.
Wallace throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Yates misses with a double jab.
Wallace cracks a nice hook into Yates's ribs.
Wallace doesn't manage to clinch there - Yates circles away.
Wallace tries to clinch up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Yates moves into the clinch.
Wallace wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Yates as the two fighters clinch.
Wallace is breathing heavily.

Yates escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Yates swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Yates throws a right hand that Wallace ducks under and follows up with a left that Wallace also avoids with ease.

Yates rushes Wallace and presses him up against the cage.

Yates's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wallace jabs Yates right on the nose. Yates blinks but takes it well.
Wallace lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Wallace tries to clinch up.
Yates throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wallace.
Yates misses with a wild combination.
The fighters circling - Yates throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
No joy there for Yates, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wallace tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Yates counters with a left and a right that stings Wallace.


Jeez, Tim Wallace's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tim Wallace's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Elliot Yates!
