Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Reed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ian Early!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed circles away from the clinch attempt.
A nice leg kick lands there from Early.
Reed shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Early as he jumps to the side.
Early tries to clinch there but Reed circles away.

Reed drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Reed has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Early is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Reed landing shots from mount.
Reed fails to move to back control.
Reed looking to control but Early is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee warns Early that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Reed lands a nice shot to the head.
Early taking shots to the head.
Early is squirming around, avoiding Reed's attempts to control the action.

Reed working for a submission but Early is keeping him at bay.
Reed has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Early defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Reed.
Reed is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reed is landing with some decent strikes but Early is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Early tries to buck Reed off but he can't manage it.
Reed cracks Early with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Reed looking to control but Early is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Reed with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Early wants to try and get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reed controlling the pace for now.

Reed is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Early can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Reed looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Reed wants to take Early's back but he can't do it this time.
Reed scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Early is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Reed can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Early is looking to escape.
Reed wants to take his opponent's back but Early doesn't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Early can do anything to dispel that myth.
Reed has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Early's face.
Reed working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Reed working for a submission but Early is keeping him at bay.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Reed with a couple of short strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dean Reed dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Reed shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Reed showed some decent athleticism there.
Reed winds up and cracks Early with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Reed is taking a breather. Early says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Reed has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Reed is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Early has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Reed is cranking Early's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Early! He's tightened the choke and Early is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dean Reed!
