The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peters keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Peters scores with a sloppy right hand. Rua should have avoided that one.
Peters throws a leg kick but Rua sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Rua shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peters but Peters pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Peters lands with a straight right. Rua didn't see that one coming.
Peters leaves Rua with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Roy Peters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderlei Rua.
Peters connects with a right hand. Rua shakes it off.
Rua shoots in and drives through. Peters sprawls well.
Peters connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Rua! He's out on his feet! Peters rushes in and drops Rua with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
