Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ellis Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tane Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thompson has chosen it was over as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ellis Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tane Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson misses with an uppercut. Stone saw that one coming.
Thompson cracks Stone with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Stone takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Thompson throws a right and a left that Stone avoids nicely.
No joy there for Stone, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thompson throws a series of strikes that have Stone backpedaling.
Stone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Thompson stalks Stone and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Stone's face. Stone staggers backwards, shaken.
Stone tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Stone fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thompson sprawls well initially but Stone persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Thompson controlling the position for now.

Stone takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Thompson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stone is working away from the top position though.

Stone looking to finish Thompson with some ground and pound. This is bad for Thompson!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stone lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Stone is trying to control the action in half guard but Thompson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Thompson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stone's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stone's back!
Thompson thows a strike but Stone uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Stone as he ends up in Thompson 's guard!

Stone got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thompson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stone has managed to get both his arms back between Thompson's legs - danger averted.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Stone goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Thompson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stone moves away.

Thompson feints and then cracks Stone's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stone down.

Thompson connects with a solid leg kick.
Tane Thompson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stone takes a kick to the side of the head.
Thompson connects with a nice looking jab.

Thompson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Stone.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Thompson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Thompson stuffs the takedown attempt from Stone. Stone gets slowly back to his feet.

Thompson moves in looking to clinch but Stone pushes him off.

and Thompson counters with a straight right hand.
Good exchange - Thompson coming out on top.
Tane Thompson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Stone misses with a wild combination.

and Stone counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Thompson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stone pulls his head out easily.
Stone seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Thompson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Thompson manages to get to full guard.

Thompson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Stone stacks Thompson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Stone!

Thompson gets back to half guard.
Stone throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Stone wants to take a breather but Thompson is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Oh Stone is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Stone looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Stone tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Thompson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Thompson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Stone stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Thompson.
Thompson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Stone.
Ellis Stone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Stone is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

and Thompson counters by moving into the clinch.
Thompson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A nice left hand lands by Thompson.
Stone is trying to stall.
Stone seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Thompson is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.
Stone goes for a takedown attempt but Thompson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Stone takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A punch lands to the side of Stone 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Thompson closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Thompson cracks a nice hook into Stone's ribs.

Thompson bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Stone! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thompson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ellis Stone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Thompson drops back looking for a leg! Stone is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stone manages to kick Thompson off! Thompson jumps back into Stone's guard.
