Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between frank mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and terrier Bulldog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bulldog pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A head kick by mir misses

and Bulldog counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
mir is trying to break free.
Bulldog is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
mir has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bulldog avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bulldog drops to a knee looking for a takedown but mir gets the underhooks and prevents it.

mir escapes and gets back to his feet.

mir could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

mir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bulldog swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bulldog avoiding damage under a succession of punches from mir.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
mir slows the pace down in half guard.

mir is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bulldog doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time mir.

mir is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

mir stops Bulldog from standing up.

mir gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
mir throws a lazy head kick
and Bulldog counters with a good, hard body kick but mir shrugs it off.
Bulldog throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Excellent takedown into side control there by mir.
