Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between eduardo gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Combo Bronx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

gonzales has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bronx takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
gonzales is pressing down on Bronx's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

gonzales has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bronx is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for gonzales.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
gonzales is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bronx is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

gonzales is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bronx pulls his head out easily.
Bronx really doesn't want to stay on the ground with gonzales. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

gonzales is looking for a sweep. Bronx is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Bronx has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
