Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cooper King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bones Jones!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

King prevents Jones from breaking the clinch.
King changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jones fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and King counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
King perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
King wants to stand but Jones has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

King takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

and King makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
King swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and King counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.

King tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
Jones has control of King's left arm, preventing King from doing any damage.

Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jones wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and King is now in half guard.
Jones wants to improve his position but King is controlling well.

Jones is looking to get back to full guard here but King has managed to pass to side control instead.
