Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chase Texlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Milan Szedas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Milan Szedas!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Texlin throws a head kick that misses.

Szedas scores with a takedown into Texlin's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Texlin is on top in guard.
Texlin looking to pass the guard.
Texlin wants to control from the top but Szedas keeps moving.
Texlin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Szedas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Texlin is pushing down on Szedas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Szedas is fighting to maintain full guard but Texlin has managed to sneak the leg through.
Texlin stops Szedas from getting back to his feet.
Texlin is trying to control. Szedas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Texlin tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Szedas.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Texlin has his takedown stuffed
and Szedas counters with a two punch combo.
Texlin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Szedas.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Texlin wants to clinch but Szedas slips to the side

and Szedas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Szedas controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Szedas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Texlin is proving hard to escape from.

Texlin has his foot on Szedas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Szedas works his way back into a safe position though.
Szedas stays in close to Texlin's body and controls the position.

Szedas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Texlin, up you get!

Texlin looks to clinch

and Szedas counters by clinching up.
Szedas is trying to break free.
Szedas wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Texlin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Szedas's efforts to push away.
Szedas wants to break free but Texlin has control.

Szedas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Texlin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Szedas holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Texlin is trying to stall.

Szedas pulls guard effortlessly.

Szedas wants to sweep here but Texlin controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Szedas looks gassed!
Texlin trying to control the position from guard on top but Szedas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Texlin wants to stand but Szedas has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Texlin wants to pass the guard but Szedas is keeping the position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Texlin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Szedas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Szedas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Texlin is proving hard to escape from.
Texlin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Texlin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Szedas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Szedas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Texlin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Texlin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Szedas tries to stand but Texlin is controlling from the bottom.
Szedas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Texlin tries for a takedown but Szedas circles away easily

and Szedas counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Texlin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chase Texlin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Texlin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Szedas manages to get himself to full guard.

Milan Szedas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Texlin fails with the takedown

and Szedas counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Szedas.
Szedas tries to break free but Texlin pushes him back against the cage.
Szedas wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Szedas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Texlin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Szedas decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Texlin's guard.

Szedas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Szedas won't allow Texlin to sweep him here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Szedas looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Szedas postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Szedas would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Szedas wants to free his trapped foot but Texlin is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Milan Szedas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Szedas shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Texlin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Texlin looking for subs off his back but Szedas has passed one foot through into half guard.
Szedas prevents Texlin from improving his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Milan Szedas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Szedas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
