Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between todd labod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

labod rushes Hawkins and presses him up against the cage.

labod turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawkins sneaks back into half guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hawkins has eaten all the pies!
labod is keen to just control but Hawkins is a slippery customer.
Hawkins tries to roll over but labod keeps him under control.
Hawkins blocking the ground and pound attempt from labod.

Hawkins is defending against the submission attempts here by labod.
Hawkins wants to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hawkins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hawkins showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
labod is breathing heavily.
labod is looking to improve his position.
Hawkins passes the guard and advances to mount!
Hawkins pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Hawkins has hold of labod's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and labod manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hawkins with shots to the head and body - labod looks very uncomfortable down there.
labod is squirming around, avoiding Hawkins's attempts to control the action.
labod is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hawkins goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now labod is on top in guard.

Hawkins has his foot on labod's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. labod works his way back into a safe position though.

labod stands up from guard. Let's bang!

labod creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hawkins's defenses.

labod wriggles free and stands up.

Hawkins looks to clinch

and labod counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hawkins won't be happy with that.
labod has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hawkins!
Hawkins wants to control but labod is having none of it.
Hawkins is working to get back to half guard.
labod looking to finish Hawkins with some ground and pound. This is bad for Hawkins!
Hawkins wants to hold on but labod pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
labod tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hawkins tries to reverse the position but labod maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hawkins misses with a takedown
and labod counters with a one-two to the body.
todd labod is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hawkins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

labod has one foot on Hawkins's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Hawkins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hawkins wants to control but labod is keeping him busy.
labod tries to buck Hawkins off but Hawkins is having none of it.
Hawkins has knee on belly momentarily but labod bucks him off and regains half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and labod counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
labod wants to pass to mount but Hawkins is defending the position.

Hawkins has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. labod is working away from the top position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
labod lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

A close second round but Drew Hawkins will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Hawkins counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

labod is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hawkins gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

labod has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hawkins avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hawkins trying to control the position but instead, labod has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hawkins into the cage.

labod lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
labod leaves Hawkins with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
labod misses with a jab, cross combination.

labod closes the distance and pushes Hawkins back into the cage.
Hawkins landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
labod is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Hawkins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
labod looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hawkins is fending him off so far but labod persists. Nope, Hawkins circles away and we're back to standing.
labod wants to clinch up but Hawkins keeps it at a distance.
Hawkins lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as labod backs up against the cage.

labod drives through and clinches with Hawkins against the cage.

Hawkins fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Hawkins gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from labod.

labod pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
todd labod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and labod decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hawkins's guard.
Hawkins wants to sweep here but labod controlling him for the moment.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to todd labod.
I think labod has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
