The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smolarek lands a jab-cross combination.
Siet shoots in for a takedown but Smolarek shows good takedown defense.
Siet throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smolarek's waist but Smolarek gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Siet off to one side.
Siet drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Siet is defended easily by Smolarek.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jiu Jiet Siet. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smolarek throws a sloppy head kick and Siet moves out of range easily.
Smolarek cracks Siet with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Siet shoots in for a double leg but Smolarek sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Smolarek lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Siet shoots in for a takedown but Smolarek shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Smolarek lands a nice hook to Siet's body. Siet takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Siet is breathing heavily.
Smolarek drops Siet with a straight right hand, right on the button! Smolarek follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
