The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Faria or perhaps it was just good defense by Rock which made him look bad.

Faria clinches.
Rock scores with a shoulder strike.
A short right from Rock on the inside.
Faria is trying to stall.
Rock throws a head punch that misses.
Rock throws an elbow but it misses.
Rock lands with a left to the head.
Faria blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Faria throws a knee to the head but misses.

Rock manages to break the clinch.
Rock swats away the attempt to clinch by Faria.
Faria keeps the fight on the outside.

and Rock holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rock lands a hook that snaps the head of Faria backwards.
Rock is struggling to control the position.
Faria pushes Rock back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Rock throws an elbow that misses.

Rock has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Faria regains guard immediately.

Rock working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Rock lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rock working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Faria's head.
Rock connects with a couple of short punches.
Rock is working Faria over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Rock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Faria has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rock has managed to get both his arms back between Faria's legs - danger averted.
Faria is breathing heavily.
Rock is working Faria over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Faria is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

BOOM! Rock connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Faria is looking to get to half guard.
Faria is bucking up trying to escape but Rock cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee warns Faria that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rock drops a big elbow. That's hurt Faria! More shots from Rock and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
