Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trenton Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and shane Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trenton Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, shane Johnson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
Griffin fails with a takedown attempt.
Griffin shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Griffin throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Johnson shoots and misses

and Griffin counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard.
Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Griffin stands and steps away. Johnson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Trenton Griffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of shane Johnson.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Johnson is not content to let Griffin control the position.
Johnson tries to escape but Griffin is in control.

Griffin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Johnson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Griffin connects with a decent elbow.
Griffin cracks Johnson with a big right hand but Johnson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Griffin decides to stand up, so the ref orders Johnson to his feet.

Griffin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Griffin gets to his feet. Johnson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Johnson keeps the fight on the outside.

Griffin moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.
Griffin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Griffin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Griffin has had enough of the clinch but Johnson keeps him there for the moment.
Griffin wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.

Griffin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Griffin fails with a takedown attempt.
Griffin tries to clinch up.
Johnson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Johnson lands a glancing blow to the side of Griffin's head.
Trenton Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Griffin lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Griffin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Griffin wants it to stay on the feet.
Johnson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Griffin finds it's way round the side to connect with Johnson's head.

Griffin throws a series of punches but Johnson moves out of range.

Griffin throws a right and a left that Johnson avoids nicely.
Johnson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Griffin.

Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Griffin holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Johnson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Griffin wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Johnson looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Johnson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Griffin pushes Johnson off and gets back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Griffin tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Griffin wants to clinch but Johnson slips to the side

and Johnson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Griffin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trenton Griffin dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Griffin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johnson defends well.

Griffin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnson is trying to defend but Griffin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Griffin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Johnson's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Johnson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Griffin, up you get!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson is keen to just control but Griffin is a slippery customer.

and Griffin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Johnson drops back looking for a leg! Griffin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Griffin manages to kick Johnson off! Johnson jumps back into Griffin's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Griffin drives through and clinches with Johnson against the cage.
Griffin lands with a light punch inside.
A frustrated look appears on Griffin's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Griffin tries to circle away but Johnson has him pinned against the cage.
Johnson is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Griffin content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Johnson is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Griffin wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Johnson lands a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson breaks the clinch.

Griffin can't break the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Johnson drags the fight down to the ground.

Griffin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Johnson dives on top into guard.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Griffin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Griffin sneaks out the side door and pushes Johnson away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Griffin lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Trenton Griffin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Griffin pinned against the cage. Griffin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johnson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Griffin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Johnson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Griffin was covering up waiting for the punch and Johnson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Griffin has his takedown stuffed
and Johnson counters with a head kick.

Griffin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.

Griffin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Johnson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Griffin has Johnson in his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to shane Johnson.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
