Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Kesler!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Jaeger!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jaeger drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kesler manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jaeger has Kesler in his guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kesler stays in close to Jaeger's body and controls the position.
Kesler has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jaeger isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kesler stacks Jaeger on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kesler!
Jaeger is trying to control Kesler's posture but Kesler avoids it.

Jaeger is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Kesler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jaeger with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Jaeger had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kesler is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jaeger Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kesler's back instead.

Jaeger has got his arm under Kesler's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Kesler has spun round into Jaeger's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Kesler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jaeger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kesler has managed to get both his arms back between Jaeger's legs - danger averted.
Kesler stands up over Jaeger, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Kesler postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kesler is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Travis Jaeger has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kesler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
