Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Dawg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doadi Rafi Meldir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Dawg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doadi Rafi Meldir!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawg closes the distance and clinches up with Meldir, looking for a takedown. Dawg pushes Meldir against the cage but Meldir circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dawg keeps the fight on the outside.
Dawg checks a low kick from Meldir.

Dawg closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Meldir breaks the clinch.
Meldir attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Dawg misses with a two punch combination.
Doadi Rafi Meldir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dawg throws a one two combo.

Meldir drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Meldir trying to control but Dawg is working from the bottom.
Dawg wants to sweep but no luck.

Meldir gets to his feet - Dawg follows without any prompting.
Meldir lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Jim Dawg has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Meldir fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dawg looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Meldir closes the distance and clinches.

Meldir gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dawg regains guard.

Meldir lands a couple of elbows.

Meldir gets to his feet. Dawg looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Dawg has closed the distance and engaged Meldir in a clinch.
Dawg throws an elbow but it misses.
Meldir tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Meldir lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Meldir fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Meldir has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Dawg is trying to keep an underhook but Meldir manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Meldir wanted to stand there but Dawg had control of the position.

Dawg manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Meldir wants to control but Dawg is having none of it.

Dawg is working for a guillotine from mount but Meldir frees his head quite easily.
Dawg wants to control the pace but Meldir is squirming around nicely.
Meldir is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Dawg trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Meldir tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Meldir is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Meldir manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Meldir keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dawg seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Dawg wants to pass to mount but Meldir is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meldir tries to get to full guard but Dawg has control of the leg.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Meldir regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dawg tries to free his leg and advance position but Meldir is retaining full guard.
Meldir is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Meldir looking for a guillotine here but Dawg defends easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Meldir pulls Dawg in to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Meldir closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Meldir thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Dawg is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dawg wants to get back to full guard but Meldir has passed into side control.
Dawg can't escape the position.
Meldir lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Meldir looking to control but Dawg is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Meldir jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dawg manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dawg looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Dawg lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Dawg passes Meldir's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Doadi Rafi Meldir has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dawg slips a nice elbow through Meldir's hands, connecting with Meldir's forehead.
Dawg slows the pace down in half guard.
Dawg is trying to control the action in half guard but Meldir is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dawg frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Meldir keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dawg has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Meldir's face.
Dawg tries to control but Meldir wriggling away.

Dawg is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Meldir is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jim Dawg just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Meldir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Dawg is staying active underneath Meldir, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Dawg has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Meldir is working away from the top position though.

A close second round but Doadi Rafi Meldir will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's time! Dawg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Meldir wants to control but Dawg is having none of it.

Meldir manages to regain half guard. Good work.

The fighters are battling for position here. Meldir manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Meldir is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dawg is controlling him.

Meldir escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dawg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dawg passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Dawg tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Meldir is pushing Dawg's head away, looking to escape. Dawg manages to hold on to the position though.

Dawg decides to stand up, so the ref orders Meldir to his feet.
Dawg pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dawg walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Meldir checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Dawg counters with a three punch combo that has Meldir backing up. Meldir nods at Dawg to acknowledge the strikes.
