The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gorgov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Winston avoids it really well and circles away.

Winston is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Winston throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
A jab-cross combination lands for Winston and sends Gorgov crashing to the mat! Winston follows him down to the mat - Gorgov regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Winston tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You get the feeling that Winston really doesn't like being in this position too much.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Winston can do anything to dispel that myth.
Winston is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gorgov cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Gorgov throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Winston's waist but Winston gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gorgov off to one side.
