Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribbon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Ribbon rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Ribbon won't allow it.
Ribbon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Johnson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Ribbon tries for a takedown but Johnson manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Blue Ribbon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ribbon gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Johnson regains guard.
Ribbon passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Ribbon just content to control the position.
Ribbon working the strikes but Johnson uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Ribbon throwing shots but Johnson is blocking nicely.
Johnson is not content to let Ribbon control the position.
Johnson tries to roll over but Ribbon keeps him under control.

Ribbon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Ribbon content to control rather than advance.
Ribbon is tying to control. Johnson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ribbon slows the pace down in half guard.
Ribbon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Johnson for as long as he can get away with.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Blue Ribbon just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Johnson tries to clinch but Ribbon moves out of range.

Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Ribbon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Johnson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Ribbon breaks the clinch.
Ribbon throws a big shot that misses.
Blue Ribbon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ribbon feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Johnson's calf.
Ribbon with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Matt Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ribbon fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson lands a brutal head kick. Ribbon looks out on his feet and Johnson throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
