Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Don Johnston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slice has chosen Welcome to the Jungle as his entrance music. Don Slice will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Johnston!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Slice!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnston tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Slice paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Don Slice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnston swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Johnston looks to land a combination but Slice avoids it well.
Johnston misses with a few strikes there.

Slice looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Johnston!
Johnston trying desperately to get to his feet.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnston trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Slice throwing strikes here but Johnston is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Slice sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnston holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Slice tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Johnston wants to try and get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Slice thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Johnston tries to buck Slice off but he can't manage it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Slice dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Slice closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Slice lands in his opponent's guard.
Johnston preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slice distracts Johnston with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Johnston is wriggling around but Slice manages to pass to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Slice not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Johnston wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slice throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Slice thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Slice missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Slice showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Johnston misses with a two punch combination.
No joy there for Slice, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Slice looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnston is fending him off so far but Slice persists. Nope, Johnston circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnston tries to clinch up.
A head kick misses from Slice.
A cross from Johnston lands.
Johnston throws a series of punches but Slice avoids them all with ease.
Johnston swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Slice counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Slice connects with a jab.
No luck for Slice with that takedown attempt.
Johnston defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Slice.
Don Johnston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Slice.

Slice misses with a series of wild punches.
Slice clinches but Johnston breaks the clinch
and Johnston counters with a stiff right hand.
Johnston dodges the punch combination from Slice.
Johnston looks to throw the jab but Slice is out of range.
Johnston misses with a few strikes there.
Johnston throws a left and a right that both miss
and Slice counters with a body kick that stops Johnston in his tracks momentarily.
Johnston throws a series of punches but Slice moves out of range.

Slice shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Johnston uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Slice throws a nice looking combination but Johnston bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Johnston throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnston wants to clinch up but Slice keeps it at a distance.
Johnston walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Slice shoots for a takedown but Johnston saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Slice throws a series of punches but Johnston avoids them all with ease.

Johnston drives through and clinches with Slice against the cage.
Slice is trying to break free.

Slice manages to break the clinch.
Johnston avoids the body shot from Slice.
Slice misses with a takedown

and Johnston moves into the clinch.

Slice breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Don Johnston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnston falls off balance throwing a combination
and Slice counters with a left and a right that stings Johnston.
A punch lands to the side of Johnston 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Slice drives through and clinches with Johnston against the cage.
Slice misses with some punches.
Slice swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slice is trying to stall.

Slice escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Slice swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Johnston counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Johnston misses with a series of wild punches.
Slice scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Johnston throws a looping overhand right but Slice ducks down to avoid it.
Slice fails with a takedown attempt.
Slice tries for a takedown but Johnston sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnston misses with a looping left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Johnston clearly takes that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Slice drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Johnston is pushing Slice's head away, looking to escape. Slice manages to hold on to the position though.

Slice is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Johnston is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnston pushes Slice away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Slice gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Don Slice dominated that fourth round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Slice misses with a series of wild punches.
A nice combination there by Johnston.
Slice throws a head kick that half lands.
Slice tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnston swivels and escapes.
Slice fails with the takedown
and Johnston connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Johnston looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Slice stalks Johnston and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnston's face. Johnston staggers backwards, shaken.
Johnston misses with a hook.
Johnston wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slice will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Don Johnston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Don Slice.
Slice throws a wild body kick that Johnston sees coming a mile off.

Slice feints and as Johnston raises his hands in defense, Slice changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Slice chips away with some ground and pound.

Johnston scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnston misses with a double jab

and Slice counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnston won't be happy with that.
Johnston is trying to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slice fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Johnston is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Slice in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Don Slice.
I think Slice has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
