PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Mark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and paulo silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

silva has Mark up against the cage in a clinch.
Mark tries to pull guard but silva holds him up against the cage and eventually Mark drops back down to his feet.
Mark tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mark takes an elbow to the forehead.

Mark tries to pull guard but silva won't allow it.

silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mark is bucking up trying to escape but silva cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

silva is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mark can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Mark tries to hold on but silva postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mark holds on, trying desperately to control.

silva unloads with some shots from mount but Mark bucks and avoids them well.
BOOM! silva connects with a massive shot to the dome!
silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mark tries to lock up and control but silva gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

silva is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mark can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

silva throws a wild left hand from mount and Mark manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Mark keeps control of the position for the meantime.

silva is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Mark tries to pull guard but silva won't allow it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mark.

Mark keeps the fight in the clinch, despite silva's efforts to push away.
Mark lands a hook that snaps the head of silva backwards.
Mark jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as silva walks away with a smile on his face. Mark gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mark fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but silva avoids it really well and circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mark tries to bum rush silva with a series of wild strikes but silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
