Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yushin Fujita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rufio Souza!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fujita with a hook.
It looks like Rufio Souza has been cut.
Souza shoots in but no luck this time.
Fujita is looking to clinch but Souza is avoiding it.
Fujita misses with a wild body shot.
Fujita tries a head kick but it misses.
Fujita throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Souza stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Souza looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Fujita tests Souza's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Souza decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fujita wants to improve his position but Souza is controlling well.
Souza wants to stand but Fujita has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Souza escapes and gets back to his feet.
Souza fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fujita sprawls well initially but Souza persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Souza looks gassed!
Souza is thwarting Fujita's attempts to control the position.
Souza prevents Fujita from improving his position.
Souza is trying to work for a kimura but Fujita is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fujita is pressing down on Souza's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Souza preventing the sweep.
Fujita looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Souza drops back looking for a leg! Fujita is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fujita manages to kick Souza off! Souza jumps back into Fujita's guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Fujita is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Souza wants to control from the top but Fujita keeps moving.
Fujita has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Souza should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Fujita has tightened it up now! Souza should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
