Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Kapatos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Ringo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kapatos kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Angels and Airwaves- The War. Ringo has chosen Rude Boy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Kapatos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny Ringo!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ringo tries to clinch but Kapatos moves out of range.
Ringo bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Kapatos shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ringo is trying to defend but Kapatos finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Kapatos blocks the strikes from Ringo.
Ringo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kapatos is looking to advance position but Ringo won't allow it.
Ringo is looking for a sweep. Kapatos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kapatos is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Ringo trying to control but Kapatos postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kapatos tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ringo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ringo wants to control but Kapatos is keeping busy and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ringo tries to clinch up but Kapatos circles away and keeps his distance.
Ringo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kapatos.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ringo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kapatos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kapatos uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ringo has time to react.
Ringo lands with an overhand left.
Kapatos fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ringo fails to land with a series of punches.
Kapatos takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Kapatos throws a combination that misses
and Ringo counters with a big head kick but Kapatos shrugs it off.
Kapatos is breathing heavily.
Kapatos misses with a double jab.
Kapatos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ringo.
Ringo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


Kapatos is rocked!
A good leg kick by Ringo.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ringo.
Ringo misses with a head kick.
Ringo throws a leg kick which misses Kapatos's front leg but catches the back leg as Kapatos tries to avoid it.

Ringo moves into the clinch.

Ringo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ringo moves in looking to clinch but Kapatos pushes him off.
Kapatos avoids the head kick by Ringo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ringo ducks under a wild hook from Kapatos.
Ringo throws a nice looking combination but Kapatos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ringo tries to bum rush Kapatos with a series of wild strikes but Kapatos uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ringo tries to close the distance and clinch but Kapatos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kapatos throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ringo counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kapatos's knee momentarily.
Ringo looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ringo tries to clinch up but Kapatos circles away and keeps his distance.
Ringo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ringo throws a head kick that misses.
Ringo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Ringo lands with a kick to the temple. Kapatos shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Ringo stalks Kapatos and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kapatos's face. Kapatos staggers backwards, shaken.
Oh Kapatos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ringo connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Kapatos tumbling to the canvas! Ringo pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Kapatos was done - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Johnny Ringo!
