PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eric Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Morales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergio Morales told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Correa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sergio Morales!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Correa throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Morales sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Correa looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Morales shoots in and bounces Correa off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Correa has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Correa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Morales looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Morales needs to keep his hands up - Correa had a free shot at his head there.
Morales avoids a punch combination nicely.
Correa connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Morales tumbling to the canvas! Correa pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Morales was done - good stoppage!
