PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tony Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Bede (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lucas Bede was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Bede!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bede stuffs the takedown attempt from Davis. Davis gets slowly back to his feet.

Bede stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bede wants it to stay on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bede is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Davis is just riding it out for now. Bede eventually gives up the hold.
Bede is stalling here. Davis is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bede seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Davis has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Davis seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Lucas Bede comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bede has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
