The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cardim closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Cardim manages to break the clinch.
Cardim tries to clinch up but Da Silva circles away and keeps his distance.
Cardim throws a head kick but Da Silva moves out of range.
Cardim loads up on a big right hand but Da Silva slips the punch.
Bruno Cardim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Da Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cardim but Cardim pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Da Silva throws a leg kick but Cardim sees it coming and moves out of range.
Cardim displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Da Silva.
A head kick misses from Cardim.
Cardim misses with a body shot.
Cardim looks to land a combination but Da Silva avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Da Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cardim tries to avoid it but Da Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cardim to the ground. Cardim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Da Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cardim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
