Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Zamora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heath Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Smith thows a body shot but no joy.
Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Zamora's waist but Zamora gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side.

Smith feints and as Zamora raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smith won't allow Zamora to get back to his feet.
Smith throwing strikes from guard but Zamora blocks nicely.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Smith wants to control from the top but Zamora keeps moving.
Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Zamora wants to stand up but Smith is controlling him.
Zamora throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Smith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith wants to control from the top but Zamora keeps moving.
Smith throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zamora works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Smith pushing down on Zamora's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zamora tries to hold on but Smith postures up.

Smith is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Zamora has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Zamora sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Smith uses his free foot to push down on Zamora's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zamora.

Zamora tries to hold on but Smith postures up.

Smith get's back to his feet.
Zamora will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zamora.

Zamora gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Smith to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Smith stands up and waves to Zamora to follow him.
Zamora throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zamora blocks a head kick by Smith.
Smith tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zamora was well out of range. Poor timing from Smith.
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zamora defends it nicely.
Smith dives in and grabs Zamora's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zamora pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.
Ricardo Zamora has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Heath Smith.
Smith jabs at Zamora's body.
Zamora throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Zamora swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Heath Smith dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Zamora takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Smith is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zamora's half guard.

Smith is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Zamora has managed to free his arm - good work.
Smith content to control rather than advance.

Smith moves into full mount! Zamora won't be happy about that!

Smith is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Zamora can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Smith takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Smith putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Smith postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zamora looks a forlorn figure.

Zamora has left one of his arms exposed and Smith doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Zamora screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
