Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sanji Yokohama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Freude schöner Götter Funken. Peter Martin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sanji Yokohama's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Peter Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sanji Yokohama!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yokohama is trying hard to land a takedown here. Martin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Yokohama throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martin's waist but Martin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yokohama off to one side.
Yokohama misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Peter Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sanji Yokohama.
Yokohama shoots in for a double leg but Martin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

It looks like Sanji Yokohama has been cut.
Yokohama is looking to get to half guard.

Martin is going olschool here, as he tries to force Yokohama to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Yokohama shrugs it off.
Yokohama is in all sorts of trouble here.

Martin looking to secure an arm triangle but Yokohama defends it well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Martin tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

BOOM! Martin connects with a massive shot to the dome!


The cut above Sanji Yokohama's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Yokohama tries to reverse the position but Martin maintains control.
Yokohama sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Yokohama looks gassed!
Yokohama won't allow Martin to pass to mount.
Martin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Martin is working for a kimura but Yokohama is defending it quite comfortably.
Yokohama wants to control but Martin is keeping busy.
Yokohama is trying to get back to full guard.
Martin working over Yokohama with some ground and pound. Yokohama looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are battling for position here. Yokohama manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Martin has gone for a leg lock! Yokohama slips out almost immediately though and dives into Martin's guard.

Martin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Yokohama gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Martin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Martin tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Yokohama tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Martin avoids the attempt from Yokohama to control.
Yokohama tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Yokohama is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Yokohama takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Martin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Yokohama looks a forlorn figure.
Martin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yokohama on the ground.
Martin scores with a couple of good head shots there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.



Martin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Martin scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Yokohama to see if he's OK.
Peter Martin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Martin is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Yokohama will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Martin stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Peter Martin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Martin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Martin lands in his opponent's guard.
Martin tries to free his leg and advance position but Yokohama is retaining full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Yokohama working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Martin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Martin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Yokohama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Martin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Yokohama is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Martin is aware though and is defending well.

Martin drops back looking for a leg! Yokohama is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yokohama manages to kick Martin off! Martin jumps back into Yokohama's guard.
Martin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Martin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Yokohama is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Martin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Martin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Martin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Martin.
Horrible takedown by Yokohama or perhaps it was just good defense by Martin which made him look bad.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Yokohama had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Martin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Yokohama Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Martin's back instead.
Martin rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Martin is trying to maintain the position but Yokohama is very close to passing his half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Martin is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Yokohama is tapping! Great win for Martin!
