Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elong Murf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonas Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elong Murf!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Johnson.

Murf shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Murf is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Murf's back instead.

Murf tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Johnson is breathing heavily.
Johnson wants to control the pace but Murf is squirming around nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Well, if Johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Murf is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murf does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murf can do anything to dispel that myth.

Elong Murf showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Johnson with a lazy takedown attempt

and Murf decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.
Murf is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Murf has managed to sneak the leg through.

Murf looks up at the clock and then as Johnson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Murf smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Johnson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnson is on top in guard.

Johnson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Johnson stuffs the takedown.
Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.
Jonas Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jonas Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Elong Murf comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Murf has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
