Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Escarino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Beurling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escarino kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is RATM-- Guerrilla Radio. And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Beurling!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beurling swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Escarino leaves Beurling with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Escarino throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A swing and a miss from Escarino.
Beurling avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Escarino misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Beurling.
Escarino jabbing away but nothing is landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A jab lands there for Beurling.

Beurling shoots for a takedown but Escarino saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Beurling working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Beurling is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Escarino knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Escarino managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Beurling.

Beurling tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beurling has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Beurling tries to advance to mount but Escarino denies him.
Beurling tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Beurling goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Escarino has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Beurling but great work by Escarino.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Escarino has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Escarino ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Beurling moves away.
Escarino avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Escarino falls off balance throwing a combination
and Beurling counters with a straight right hand.
Escarino uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Beurling.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but George Beurling will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Beurling counters with a nice uppercut.
Escarino's corner calls for a 1-2. Escarino obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


Beurling is rocked!
Escarino ducks right into an uppercut from Beurling.
Beurling is still on wobbly legs! Can Escarino finish him?
No luck with that takedown attempt from Beurling.
Beurling seems to have recovered his senses.
Beurling thows a left - swing and a miss!
Beurling cracks a nice hook into Escarino's ribs.
Escarino jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Beurling throws a series of punches but Escarino avoids them all with ease.

Beurling shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Escarino but Escarino pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Beurling fails to land with a series of punches.
Beurling throws a big shot that misses.
Beurling gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Escarino.
Beurling throws a looping overhand right but Escarino ducks down to avoid it.
Dan Escarino is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Beurling falls off balance throwing a combination
and Escarino connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Beurling stalks Escarino and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Escarino's face. Escarino staggers backwards, shaken.

Beurling throws a leg kick but Escarino checks it.
