Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zygarath Shinsaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zygarath Shinsaku will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Wayne!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zygarath Shinsaku!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinsaku throws a lazy right hand but Wayne sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shinsaku jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Zygarath Shinsaku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wayne drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wayne postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Wayne scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Wayne throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Shinsaku works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shinsaku can do anything to dispel that myth.
Shinsaku manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wayne manages to get himself to full guard.
Wayne has control of Shinsaku's left arm, preventing Shinsaku from doing any damage.
Wayne is trying to control the position but Shinsaku postures up.

Wayne thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Wayne will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Wayne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Shinsaku stands and steps away. Wayne gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Shinsaku.
Shinsaku jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wayne moves out of range as Shinsaku strikes.
Shinsaku throws a leg kick which misses Wayne's front leg but catches the back leg as Wayne tries to avoid it.
Shinsaku lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Wayne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shinsaku tries to avoid it but Wayne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shinsaku to the ground. Shinsaku escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wayne shoots for a double leg takedown but Shinsaku sprawls well. He's pushed Wayne's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shinsaku misses with a straight right.
Shinsaku lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wayne's sensitive parts.
Shinsaku lands with a kick to the temple. Wayne shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like John Wayne has been cut.
Wayne shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Wayne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wayne is breathing heavily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Shinsaku.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shinsaku dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wayne. That did some damage!
Wayne dives in and grabs Shinsaku's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shinsaku pushes down on Wayne's head and hops out.
Shinsaku plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Shinsaku lands with a kick to the temple. Wayne shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Wayne is rocked!
Shinsaku drops Wayne with a naaaaasty hook - Wayne is in real trouble here! Shinsaku dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
