Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Larry Layman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flo FLOW (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Larry Layman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Flo FLOW!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

FLOW gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Layman to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Layman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Layman throws a strike aimed at the side of FLOW's head but FLOW avoids it well.

Layman is looking to take a break and control but FLOW is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
FLOW gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Layman is looking for a kimura but FLOW is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Layman to get the leverage.
FLOW is refusing to be controlled, as Layman sits in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Layman is pressing down on FLOW's thigh, looking to free his foot. FLOW is holding on for now.
FLOW regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Layman.
Layman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Layman is looking to work some ground and pound but FLOW has wrist control.

Layman tries to free his leg and advance position but FLOW is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
FLOW shoots and misses

and Layman counters with a shoot takedown. FLOW fights it but they end up in guard.
Layman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Layman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. FLOW swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Layman wants to control from the top but FLOW keeps moving.
Layman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Layman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed FLOW's guard.
FLOW is trying to stand back up but Layman is controlling him

Layman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so FLOW is just riding it out for now. Layman eventually gives up the hold.
FLOW is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Layman is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
FLOW trying to control here.

FLOW looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
FLOW looks gassed!
Layman content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Larry Layman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Layman scores a takedown into full mount!
BOOM! Layman connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Layman is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. FLOW can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Layman looking to control and managing it successfully.

Layman is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Layman takes the fight into the clinch.
FLOW is trying to maintain a safe position but Layman gets an underhook and turns FLOW into the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
FLOW lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
FLOW taking a breather.
The referee calls for FLOW to work.
Layman goes for a takedown in the clinch but FLOW prevents it.
FLOW is trying to break the clinch but Layman has him pressed against the cage.
FLOW throws a knee to the head but misses.
FLOW is breathing heavily.
FLOW lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

FLOW manages to break the clinch.
Layman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says FLOW as he avoids it easily.
Layman tries to clinch but FLOW moves out of range.
FLOW tries to clinch up but Layman circles away and keeps his distance.

Layman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
FLOW utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Layman wants to control from the top but FLOW keeps moving.
Layman postures up.
FLOW is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Layman is controlling him.
Layman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
FLOW wants to sweep but no luck.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Layman is stalling in the full guard.

Layman stands and steps away. FLOW gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Layman misses with a body kick.
Layman tries to clinch there but FLOW circles away.
Layman is on the wrong end of a nice combination from FLOW.

Layman shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Layman showed some decent athleticism there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Layman stands up out of the half guard.
Layman drops his hands momentarily and FLOW takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Larry Layman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Layman throws a sloppy head kick and FLOW moves out of range easily.
Layman tries to clinch but FLOW is having none of it.
Layman takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
FLOW checks a leg kick.
FLOW throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
FLOW swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
FLOW is looking to clinch.

Layman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in FLOW's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Larry Layman dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Layman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Layman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
FLOW moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Layman slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Layman throws a big right hand that misses.
Larry Layman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Layman content to stall in guard here.
Layman prevents FLOW from getting back to his feet.
FLOW keeping moving, preventing Layman from controlling successfully.

FLOW throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Layman gets a takedown into half guard.
FLOW punching from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Layman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but FLOW does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

FLOW is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Layman works his way into full mount!
Layman trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
FLOW working to try and regain half guard.

Layman goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now FLOW is on top in guard.

Layman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but FLOW can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Layman looking for a sweep. Not yet Layman, not yet.
Layman throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
FLOW trying to control the position from guard on top but Layman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Flo FLOW has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Layman has his hands on FLOW's head, controlling the position.
Layman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Layman tries to get out of the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Larry Layman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Layman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
