The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.

Maia darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Maia stops Jones from getting back to his feet.

Maia is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Maia.

Maia looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Maia looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Jones tries to kick Maia off but Maia keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Maia content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
I looks like Maia might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Maia is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jones is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
