Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Tommy Jensen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tommy Jensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Machine!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machine tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jensen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Machine somewhat.
Machine fails with a takedown attempt.

and Machine counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jensen is trying to keep Machine in close.
Machine missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Machine trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Jensen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Machine defends well.
Jensen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Machine looking to sit in guard and control but Jensen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jensen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Machine is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Machine tries to pull guard but Jensen won't allow it.
Tommy Jensen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Machine.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jensen wants a takedown but no success here.
Jensen has had enough of the clinch but Machine keeps him there for the moment.
Jensen prevents a takedown attempt there.

Machine's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Some wild striking there from Jensen.

Machine closes the distance and clinches.

Machine pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Machine clinches with his opponent.
Knees in the clinch landing for Machine.
Machine tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jensen smiles and moves away.

Machine fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jensen sprawls well initially but Machine persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jensen is staying active underneath Machine, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Machine seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Jensen throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jensen is not content to let Machine control the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jensen is trying to control but can't.
Jensen is not content to let Machine control the position.
Machine is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Jensen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jensen.
Jensen trying to control the position from guard on top but Machine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Machine is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Machine is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Machine misses with a double jab.
Jensen scores with a three punch combo!
Jensen shoots for a takedown but Machine saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jensen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Machine clinches up with Jensen and pushes him back against the cage.

Machine jumps guard and drags Jensen to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jensen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jensen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Machine wants to sweep but no luck.
Jensen tries to free his leg and advance position but Machine is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jensen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Machine wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Machine changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jensen tries to avoid it but Machine manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jensen to the ground. Jensen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jensen gets caught flat footed, as Machine shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Machine stands up and waves to Jensen to follow him.

Machine swats away the attempt to clinch by Jensen.
Machine fails to land the takedown.
Jensen misses with the combination.

Machine takes the fight into the clinch.
Jensen prevents the takedown attempt.
Tommy Jensen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Machine.

Machine has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Jensen regains guard immediately.

Machine is looking to advance position but Jensen has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Jensen blocks Machine's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Machine can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jensen avoids the attempt from Machine to control.
Machine is in all sorts of trouble here.

Machine is trying to get back to his feet but Jensen has full control of the position and if anything, Machine has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Jensen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Machine is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Jensen is really struggling to control Machine but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Machine trying to control the hands but Jensen breaks the grip.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Machine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Jensen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Jensen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Machine tries to avoid it but Jensen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Machine to the ground. Machine escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Machine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jensen is trying to control the position but Machine postures up.
Jensen wants to stand and escape but Machine is having none of it.
Machine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jensen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Machine has gone for a leg lock! Jensen slips out almost immediately though and dives into Machine's guard.

Jensen tries to free his leg and advance position but Machine is retaining full guard.
Machine throws a couple of heel strikes.
Jensen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Machine is keeping the position for now.
Machine can't keep his opponent in guard - Jensen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Machine wants to control but Jensen passes into side.
Jensen lands some shots froms side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Machine throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Joe Machine has got the better of the ground game so far.
Machine is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Machine's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Machine tries to escape but Jensen is in control.
Jensen tries to advance to mount but can't.
Jensen wants to control but Machine is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Machine closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jensen looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Machine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Machine scores a takedown into full mount!
Machine lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Machine stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Machine misses with a combination

and Jensen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Machine is looking for a sweep. Jensen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jensen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Machine keeps working.
Jensen prevents Machine from improving his position.
Machine is trying to control but can't.
Jensen stops Machine from getting back to his feet.

Machine is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jensen pulls his head out easily.
Tommy Jensen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joe Machine is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jensen is thwarting Machine's attempts to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Joe Machine.
I've got Machine winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
