The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
David cracks Schmitt with a good jab.
David fails to land with a series of punches.
Schmitt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says David as he avoids it easily.
David misses with a wild body shot.
Schmitt shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Schmitt walks into a stiff left hand from David.
David throws a right and a left that both miss.
Schmitt shoots for a double leg takedown but David sprawls well. He's pushed Schmitt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Owen Schmitt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

David throws a shot from downtown. Schmitt moves away and avoids it.
Schmitt throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
David slaps away a takedown attempt from Schmitt, before circling back to the center of the mat.
David digs a good hook to Schmitt's body.

and David connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

David throws out a loose jab but Schmitt uses good head movement to avoid it.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Schmitt. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
David misses with a straight right.

and David counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Schmitt thinking.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Schmitt closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
David checks a leg kick nicely.
Schmitt loads up on a big right hand but David slips the punch.
Schmitt takes one on the button.
David throws out a powerful jab.

Schmitt is rocked!
It's a brutal combination of punches from David! Schmitt is backing up but he can't get away as David lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Schmitt and ends the fight. Great knockout.
