PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pit Samorano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jim jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). jim has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. jim jim is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Samorano clinches up against the cage.

Samorano has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Samorano looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Samorano postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for jim to stand up.

Samorano looks to land a combination but jim avoids it well.
jim jim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Samorano ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Samorano no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

and Samorano counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Samorano shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches jim napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Samorano circles away from the clinch attempt

and Samorano decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in jim's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

jim had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Samorano is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. jim Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Samorano's back instead.

jim doesn't have the hooks in and Samorano manages to turn into his guard.
Samorano wants to control from the top but jim keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Samorano got a little sloppy there for a moment and jim has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Samorano has managed to get both his arms back between jim's legs - danger averted.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Samorano has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. jim is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
