The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koba fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Klitchkev checks it well.

Klitchkev shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Klitchkev showed some decent athleticism there.

Klitchkev is trying to work for a kimura but Koba is defending well.
Klitchkev has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Klitchkev is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Koba is surviving well by controlling Klitchkev's body position as best he can.

Klitchkev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Koba defends it well.
Koba tries to roll over but Klitchkev keeps him under control.

Klitchkev wants to pass the guard but Koba is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Koba slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Klitchkev passes Koba's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Koba is trying to maintain the position but Klitchkev is very close to passing his half guard.
Koba is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Klitchkev is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Koba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Klitchkev on the ground.

Koba is trying to control but can't.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Klitchkev shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Klitchkev is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Koba is just riding it out for now. Klitchkev eventually gives up the hold.

Koba is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Klitchkev uses his free foot to push down on Koba's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Koba.

Klitchkev jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Koba manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Koba is looking for a sweep.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Klitchkev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Koba sprawls well. Koba wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Klitchkev gets slowly back to his feet.

Koba is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Klitchkev is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Koba is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Koba flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Klitchkev anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Koba and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Klitchkev slips an arm under Koba chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Klitchkev has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Klitchkev is squeezing on Koba like an anaconda would it's prey. Koba fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
