The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Fitzgerald misses.
Fitzgerald looks to land a combination but DuBrul avoids it well.
Warren Fitzgerald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fitzgerald misses with a two punch combination.
DuBrul dives in and grabs Fitzgerald's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fitzgerald pushes down on DuBrul's head and hops out.

DuBrul closes the distance and clinches.
DuBrul is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fitzgerald gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Fitzgerald gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from DuBrul.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaxson DuBrul. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fitzgerald has had enough of the clinch but DuBrul keeps him there for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fitzgerald shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in DuBrul's guard.

Fitzgerald content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because DuBrul has locked up a guillotine! DuBrul's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Fitzgerald is holding on here and DuBrul must be using up a lot of energy. Fitzgerald has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! DuBrul gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
