The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes Inacio changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Peixoto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gomes Inacio keeps working.
Peixoto throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Gomes Inacio works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gomes Inacio is trying to break the clinch but Peixoto has him pressed against the cage.
Peixoto is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gomes Inacio gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Peixoto tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gomes Inacio just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Peixoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peixoto changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gomes Inacio fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Peixoto working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Lucas Peixoto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Peixoto shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gomes Inacio but Gomes Inacio pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Matheus Gomes Inacio has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Horrible takedown by Peixoto or perhaps it was just good defense by Gomes Inacio which made him look bad.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Peixoto, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
