Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm X (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Malcolm X!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Jones!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
X tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
X shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
X throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
X wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
X misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Horrible takedown by X or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.

X closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - X lands in his opponent's guard.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. X manages to get himself to full guard.
X keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

X is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
X shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Malcolm X. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
X drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
X stops a takedown attempt from Jones.
X is trying to break free.
Jones goes for a takedown attempt but X pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
X pulls out of a head kick attempt.
X plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jones avoids the head kick by X.

X throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones.
X is not content to let Jones control the position.

Jones has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jones takes a kick to the side of the head.

X wants to clinch

and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones.
Jones forces his way into half guard.
X is trying to escape back to his feet but Jones uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Jones looks up at the clock and then as X takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

X tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
X knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones looks gassed!
X has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Jones dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


X moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
X tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
X wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.

X pushes Jones off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

X tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch.

Jones pulls guard effortlessly.

Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet.
X has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. X is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jones Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take X's back instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones is breathing heavily.
X looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Jones trying to control momentarily.

X fending off the submission attempt from Jones.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
X holding both Jones 's hands and preventing any damage.
X is really stuck here.

X controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Jones working for the choke.
X has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


No joy there for X, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jones works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones winds up and cracks X with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
X tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but X sees it coming and defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
X tries to kick Jones off but Jones keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
James Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jones stands up and beckons X to join him on the feet.
Danga de danga de dang - X scores with a four punch combination!
X throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jones's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Left hook, right uppercut from X.
X shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely.
X lands with a kick to the temple. Jones shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
X tries to clinch

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
X wants to get back to his feet.
X trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

X pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
X throws a head kick that Jones semi-blocks.

Jones tries to keep at a distance but X has taken the fight into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Jones just misses with a elbow thrown towards X's brow.

X works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
X trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
X would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

X stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones has a takedown stuffed.
X shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but X keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
X tries for a takedown but Jones circles away easily

and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. X fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Malcolm X. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jones prevents X from getting back to his feet.
James Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jones advances position into side control!
Malcolm X has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones grinds an elbow into X's temple.

And that's the end of the fight!
James Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jones winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
