PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doesnt Matter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Antonio Nogueria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

It looks like Marco Antonio Nogueria has been cut.
Nogueria is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nogueria should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Nogueria wants to hold on but Matter pushes him away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matter wants to control but instead Nogueria manages to regain half guard.
Nogueria pushes Matter off looking to stand but Matter dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Matter is looking to advance position but Nogueria won't allow it.
Nogueria wants to control but Matter passes into side.

Matter decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Matter is pushing down on Nogueria's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nogueria is fighting to maintain full guard but Matter has managed to sneak the leg through.

Matter changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nogueria looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Matter tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nogueria just stands there and leans against the cage.

Matter is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nogueria is controlling him.

Nogueria is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Nogueria is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Matter pulls Nogueria in close to his closed guard and prevents Nogueria from doing any damage or advancing position.
Nogueria is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Nogueria has closed the distance and engaged Matter in a clinch.

Matter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Matter. Nogueria shrugs it off though.

and Matter counters with a shoot takedown. Nogueria fights it but they end up in guard.
Doesnt Matter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marco Antonio Nogueria.

Nogueria is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Nogueria is looking for a triangle but Matter pushes his legs off easily.

Nogueria shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Matter but Matter pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Nogueria feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Matter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nogueria manages to get himself to full guard.
Nogueria is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Matter is not content to let Nogueria control the position.

Matter is looking for a sweep. Nogueria is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Doesnt Matter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Matter is refusing to be controlled, as Nogueria sits in half guard.

Matter tries to kick Nogueria off in order to stand up. Nogueria Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Nogueria is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Matter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Matter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nogueria wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Nogueria lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Matter down.

Nogueria has an Americana. Matter didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Nogueria is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Nogueria hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
