The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taps shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Welch as he avoids it easily.
Welch lands with a slapping head kick.
Welch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Taps is defended easily by Welch.
Welch tries a head kick but it misses.
Taps avoids the head kick by Welch.
Welch swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Welch lands with a kick to the temple. Taps shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Taps shoots in for a takedown but Welch shows good takedown defense.

Welch lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Taps is trying hard to land a takedown here. Welch sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Welch misses with a series of wild punches.

Taps drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Taps is looking to advance position but Welch has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Taps keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Welch cracks Taps with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Welch is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Taps has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Welch loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Taps scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Welch land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Welch stands and salutes the crowd.
