The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mormont shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mencheres shoots in and bounces Mormont off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Mencheres slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Mencheres drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mormont dives on top into guard.

Mormont wants to free his trapped foot but Mencheres is holding on for dear life with his legs.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mormont accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mormont is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mencheres is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mencheres has escaped and now he's on top!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mormont controls Mencheres momentarily but Mencheres frees himself.
Mencheres wants to get up but he can't break Mormont's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mencheres throws and elbow that misses. Mormont uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mencheres's guard. Nice move by Mormont!
