Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Bowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Poole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Bowles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anthony Poole!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bowles moves into the clinch.

Bowles gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Poole controlling the position.
Poole is trying to control the position but Bowles postures up.
Poole is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Poole keeping full guard, as Bowles tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Poole takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Bowles scores with a push kick.

Bowles closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bowles lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bowles drops back looking for a leg! Poole is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Poole manages to kick Bowles off! Bowles jumps back into Poole's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bowles seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Poole wants to sweep but no luck.
Poole looks gassed!
Poole bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bowles's guard.

Poole decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bowles, up you get!
Bowles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bowles closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Poole did well to prevent Bowles getting side control.

Bowles wants to work for an arm triangle but Poole is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Poole is not content to let Bowles control the position.

Poole is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bowles seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Bowles gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Bowles has managed to clinch.

Bowles tightens his grip and picks Poole up, before dumping him to the ground. Poole manages to land in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bowles trying to control the position from guard on top but Poole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Poole keeping moving, preventing Bowles from controlling successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Bowles counters with a nice leg kick.
Poole is looking to clinch but Bowles is avoiding it.

Poole has closed the distance and engaged Bowles in a clinch.
Poole tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Bowles scores with a shot to the side of Poole's head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Poole trying to control but Bowles is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Poole tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bowles paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Poole fails with the takedown

and Bowles counters with a takedown into side control.
Poole takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Poole tries to bench press Bowles off him but Bowles keeps the position.
Poole manages to get back to half guard.
Bowles passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Poole!

Poole is in all sorts of trouble here.

Ryan Bowles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bowles has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Poole's face.

Poole is working to get back to half guard.
A nice elbow there by Bowles.
Poole tries to lock up and control but Bowles gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Poole in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Poole is in a horrible position here. Bowles smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Poole is desperately trying to improve his position but Bowles has a good base and remains in mount.
Bowles can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Poole is looking to escape.
Bowles controlling the pace for now.
Bowles trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ryan Bowles just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Bowles shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Bowles throws a nice looking combination but Poole bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Poole gets a clinch.

Bowles decides to pull guard.
Poole wants to pass the guard but Bowles is keeping the position.
Bowles is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Poole takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Bowles counters with a leg kick.
Bowles throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Poole stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Bowles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bowles grinds an elbow into Poole's temple.

Bowles is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Poole is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bowles creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Bowles gets to mount! Poole was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Poole tries to hold on but Bowles pushes him away.

Poole tries to kick Bowles off but Bowles keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bowles tries to pass to full mount but Poole defends it.
Bowles controlling the pace.
Poole wants to improve his position but Bowles is controlling well.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bowles is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Poole pushes Bowles off looking to stand but Bowles dives back in and keeps control.
Poole tries to roll over but Bowles keeps him under control.
Poole is trying to maintain the position but Bowles is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Poole tries to get to full guard but Bowles has control of the leg.

Anthony Poole has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
