Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Twister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cowboi Mallboro!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallboro tries to clinch up.
Mallboro looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Twister changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mallboro looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Twister decides to stand back up.
Mallboro shoots and misses

and Twister counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mallboro's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Twister really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Twister wants to get up but he can't break Mallboro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Twister controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mallboro should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mallboro has a closed guard, preventing Twister from standing up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Twister stands and steps away. Mallboro gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Twister tries for a takedown but Mallboro sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Twister scores with a one two! Mallboro had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Twister gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Twister goes for a takedown attempt but Mallboro pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Twister clinches with his opponent.

Twister has hold of one of Mallboro's legs. Mallboro is fighting the takedown attempt but Twister gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Twister knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mallboro on the ground.
Twister is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mallboro is working an open guard so Twister takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mallboro is trying to control the position but Twister postures up.

Twister gets to his feet. Mallboro looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Twister drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mallboro isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Twister stacks Mallboro on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Twister!
Mark Twister overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Twister shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mallboro manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Twister wants to control from the top but Mallboro keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mallboro is working an open guard so Twister takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Mallboro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Twister gets a clinch.

Twister has picked Mallboro up - he's going for a ride! Twister dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Twister controlling the pace.
Twister will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Twister is thwarting Mallboro's attempts to control the position.
Twister takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Twister scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Twister is taking a breather. Mallboro says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Mark Twister just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Twister's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Twister drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Twister tries to free his leg and advance position but Mallboro is retaining full guard.
Mallboro can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Twister controls the pace.

Mallboro looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cowboi Mallboro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mark Twister is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mallboro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Twister gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Twister has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
