PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Pridmore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Pridmore had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pridmore shoots in but no luck this time.
Pridmore tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

brown is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pridmore is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

brown is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pridmore knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pridmore has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. brown is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

brown is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pridmore is just riding it out for now. brown eventually gives up the hold.
brown stops Pridmore from getting back to his feet.

brown is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pridmore sees it coming and defends easily.
Pridmore is trying to stand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Pridmore connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Pridmore paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Gordon brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pridmore shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says brown as he avoids it easily.

brown drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Pridmore misses with a strike from the bottom.

brown is working to tighten is grip on Pridmore's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Pridmore has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but brown is really squeezing tight and eventually Pridmore passes out! brown breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
