PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gruffo Muffo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tero Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Diablo - The Preacher. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muffo looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Muffo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Muffo lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Tero Taylor has been cut.
Taylor closes this distance looking for a takedown but Muffo circles away.
Muffo is looking to slow Taylor down with leg kicks.
Muffo tries to clinch up.
Muffo fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Taylor checks it well.
Muffo misses with a head kick.
Muffo tries a head kick but it misses.
Muffo moves in looking to clinch but Taylor pushes him off.
Taylor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Muffo pinned against the cage. Muffo gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Muffo takes the fight into the clinch.

Muffo's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Muffo tries a knee to the head but Taylor blocks it.
Taylor on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Muffo is pushing Taylor up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Muffo misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Taylor.

Muffo breaks the clinch.

Muffo has taken the fight to the clinch.
The referee calls for Muffo to work.

Taylor fails to land with a series of punches.
Muffo misses with a head kick.
Muffo tries to clinch there but Taylor circles away.

Taylor has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Muffo.
Taylor looks gassed!

Taylor takes a kick to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Muffo thumps Taylor with a low kick.
Muffo tries to clinch up but Taylor circles away and keeps his distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Muffo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Gruffo Muffo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Muffo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Muffo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Muffo moves into range and clinches up with Taylor.

Muffo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Taylor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Muffo sprawls well. Muffo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Taylor gets slowly back to his feet.
Taylor is trying desperately to land a takedown but Muffo is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Taylor.
Muffo lands a high kick!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Muffo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Muffo throws a head kick that misses.
Taylor takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Horrible takedown by Taylor or perhaps it was just good defense by Muffo which made him look bad.
Taylor takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Muffo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gruffo Muffo is winning the standup battle so far.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Muffo.
Muffo throws a leg kick which misses Taylor's front leg but catches the back leg as Taylor tries to avoid it.
Muffo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Muffo plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Taylor is rocked!
Taylor drops his hands momentarily and Muffo needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Taylor just on the top of the head. Taylor drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Taylor - he's done!
