Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Banan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Banan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Silva is not content to let Banan control the position.
Silva trying to hold on to Banan's head to control him but Banan postures up.
Silva wants to improve his position but Banan is controlling well.
Silva is refusing to be controlled, as Banan sits in half guard.
Banan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Banan prevents Silva from improving his position.
Banan is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silva shoots and misses

and Banan counters by clinching up.

Silva is fighting off a takedown attempt but Banan is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Silva to the mat. Silva regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Banan wants to get up but he can't break Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Silva is working an open guard so Banan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Banan takes the fight into the clinch.

Banan lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Silva is looking for a sweep. Banan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Silva looks like he's trying to stand up.
Banan seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Banan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Banan is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Banan looks gassed!

Banan decides to return to a standing position.
Silva tries for a takedown but Banan circles away easily

and Banan counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva looking to hit a scissor sweep but Banan is one step ahead there.

Silva manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Banan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Banan wants to control but Silva is having none of it.
Silva content just to control the position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Banan is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Silva unloads with some shots from mount but Banan bucks and avoids them well.
Silva thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Banan is looking to get to half guard.
Banan is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jan Banan dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Banan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Banan finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Silva is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Banan frees his head nicely. Oh but Silva has switched to an armbar! Banan is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
