Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Gee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kha Ri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gee might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Can't be touched. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Kha Ri was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Gee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kha Ri!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ri misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nick Gee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ri throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ri tries a low kick but Gee avoids it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gee is defended easily by Ri.
Gee thows a body shot but no joy.
Ri scores with a three punch combo!


It looks like Nick Gee has been cut.
Gee throws a hook to the side of Ri's head but Ri sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ri lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Gee sprawling to the canvas. Ri follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Gee hang on?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ri sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Gee defending well though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Ri is going to stand back up.

Ri working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Gee landing rabbit punches to the side of Ri's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ri stands up and beckons Gee to join him on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gee is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ri sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Ri scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Ri throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ri fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Gee waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Ri.
Ri ducks under a wild hook from Gee.
Ri connects with a body shot.
Kha Ri is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A punch lands to the side of Gee 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ri scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gee doesn't seem bothered though.
Ri defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gee.
Ri throws the kick towards the body but Gee avoids it.
Ri pulls out of a head kick attempt.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gee. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Ri misses with a body kick.
Ri moves into range and connects with a jab.

letting Ri counter with a right hand.

Ri swings for the body but Gee moves out of range.
Gee looks to land a right hand but Ri moved out of range.
Ri slips under a jab.
Gee misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ri lands a jab-cross combination.
Nice cross by Ri.
Ri paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Ri lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Nick Gee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ri pinned against the cage. Ri gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gee takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Gee makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Ri fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gee looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Ri scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ri has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ri leaves Gee with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ri lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gee backs up against the cage.

Ri lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Ri throws a right hand that Gee ducks under and follows up with a left that Gee also avoids with ease.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kha Ri comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ri has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
