Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hannibal Barkas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Rowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barkas comes to the cage accompanied by Civil war. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hannibal Barkas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Rowles!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowles shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Barkas defends it nicely.
Rowles scores with a jab to the body.
Barkas tries to clinch there but Rowles circles away.
Rowles wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rowles misses with a wild combination.
Rowles avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rowles looks to land a right hand but Barkas moved out of range.
Rowles tries to land a leg kick but Barkas saw it coming and moves away.
Rowles works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Rowles decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Barkas wants to get back to full guard but Rowles has mounted him!
Rowles can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Barkas is looking to escape.
Rowles wants to control the action but instead Barkas gets a body lock and reverses into Rowles's guard! Nice work!
Rowles not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rowles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barkas manages to get himself to full guard.

Rowles wants to control from the top but Barkas keeps moving.
Barkas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Rowles pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Barkas is keeping the position for now.
Rowles is fighting to break Barkas's control of his arms but Barkas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Barkas is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rowles keeps the fight on the outside.

Hannibal Barkas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Rowles counters with a nice body shot.
Barkas walks into a straight right hand from Rowles.
Rowles lands a glancing blow to the side of Barkas's head.

Rowles circles away from the clinch attempt
and Rowles counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Barkas clinches but Rowles breaks the clinch
and Rowles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Barkas ducks under a wild hook from Rowles.

and Rowles counters with a stiff right hand.

and Rowles counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Rowles dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

It looks like Paul Rowles has been cut.
Rowles swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rowles avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Barkas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Barkas closes the distance and clinches.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Rowles.

A looping hook to the body misses from Rowles. Barkas does a little dance to reset his feet.

Rowles fails to pull guard.
Rowles pushes Barkas back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
A head punch on the inside from Barkas fails to land.
Rowles misses with some punches.
Barkas lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Rowles dodges an elbow strike from Barkas.
Barkas tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Rowles takes an elbow to the temple.
Rowles is pressed up against the cage. Barkas has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rowles down to the mat. Rowles avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hannibal Barkas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Barkas throws a lazy head kick
and Rowles counters with a right hand to the body.
Rowles digs a good body shot into Barkas's ribs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Barkas on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Rowles connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Rowles jabs at Barkas's body.

Rowles throws a combination. Barkas tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


It looks like Hannibal Barkas has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rowles swings for the body but Barkas moves out of range.
Rowles lands the left hand.
Rowles throws a chopping leg kick but Barkas manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Rowles attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Barkas misses with a takedown

and Rowles counters with a takedown into side control.
Rowles working away.
Rowles tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Rowles passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Barkas!

Rowles trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Rowles lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Rowles controlling from the full mount.
Barkas is squirming around, avoiding Rowles's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Barkas working to try and regain half guard.
Rowles takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barkas blocking the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Rowles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Rowles moves into range and connects with a jab.
Barkas wants to clinch but Rowles slips to the side
and Rowles counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Rowles thows a body shot but no joy.

Barkas gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A hook to the body from Rowles.
Barkas is trying to stall.
Barkas makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Rowles blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Rowles tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Barkas's elbow.

Barkas has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rowles uses from the top position.

Barkas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rowles trying to control the position from guard on top but Barkas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rowles dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rowles just misses with a punch to the body.

Rowles throws a hook but Barkas blocks it.
Barkas on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Rowles misses with a body shot.
Barkas tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rowles counters with a leg kick.
Barkas throws a head kick but Rowles moves out of range.
Rowles swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Rowles drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rowles is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Barkas will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Paul Rowles is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rowles has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rowles's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hannibal Barkas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Barkas wants to control but Rowles postures up.

Paul Rowles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Rowles winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
