The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boykin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Boykin.
Boykin misses with a series of wild punches.
Boykin thows a body shot but no joy.
Boykin throws a big shot that misses.
Boykin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Boykin swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Johnson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Boykin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Boykin wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Johnson throws and elbow that misses. Boykin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Johnson's guard. Nice move by Boykin!

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Boykin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Boykin's back instead.

Even with his hooks in, Johnson manages to miss with strikes from the back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boykin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Boykin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Boykin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
