Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Damian Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eder Munhoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Damian Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eder Munhoz!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Munhoz's waist but Munhoz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Daniels off to one side.

Daniels closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Munhoz to the mat! Munhoz manages to get full guard.

Munhoz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Daniels doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Daniels manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Daniels takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Daniels frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Munhoz tries to hold on but Daniels postures up.
Munhoz has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Daniels slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Damian Daniels just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Daniels is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Munhoz's shoulder. That is not cool.
Munhoz is looking to reverse the position.

Munhoz moves out of range of the leg kick from Daniels.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Daniels is on top in guard.

Daniels has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Munhoz seems a little lost for a moment, as Daniels dominates the positioning.

Daniels closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Daniels lands in his opponent's guard.

Daniels drops back looking for a leg! Munhoz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Munhoz manages to kick Daniels off! Daniels jumps back into Munhoz's guard.

Munhoz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Daniels defends well.

Munhoz had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Daniels is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Munhoz Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Daniels's back instead.
