The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mattila tries to close the distance and clinch but Wilhelm swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A jab lands there for Mattila.
Wilhelm moves out of range of the strikes.

Mattila had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Wilhelm is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Mattila Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Wilhelm's back instead.

A close round but Gregor Wilhelm will probably get the nod.

Mattila shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wilhelm pinned against the cage. Wilhelm gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
